Adam Piotrowicz completed his 4th season as Head Baseball Coach at SVSU in 2025-26. Under his leadership, the Cardinals have achieved significant program milestones, including winning a Conference Championship, a Regional Championship, and hosting the first-ever Regional in school history. Piotrowicz has an overall record of 125-88 and was the fastest coach to 100 wins in program history.
In 2024, the team finished with a strong 41-18 overall record, building on a 2023 season that saw them finish 17-13 in the GLIAC and third in the conference. The 2023 team set three program records: 432.3 pitching innings, 410 strikeouts, and 23 triples. Individual standouts included Tucker Roe, who tied the season at-bats record with 198, and Jaccar Watkins, who set a new single-season triples record with eight.
Coach Piotrowicz has guided 31 players to All-GLIAC teams, 22 between D2CCA, NCBWA, and ABCA/Rawlings All-Midwest Region honors, three All-America awards, and three Player of the Year honors in four seasons. Additionally, under his guidance, SVSU celebrated its first draft pick in over 20 years with Jake Shelagowski, a 13th-round selection by the St. Louis Cardinals in 2025, marking the highest overall draft pick in program history.

Piotrowicz joined SVSU as the sixth coach in program history from Western Michigan University, where he served as Associate Head Coach, Recruiting Coordinator, Hitting Coach, and Catching Coach for their NCAA DI program since 2013. During his time at WMU, he guided the Broncos to a program record for conference wins in the MAC (23-17 in 2021) and the program’s first MAC Tournament title in 2016. Piotrowicz also served as an assistant coach at Valparaiso University (2010-2013) and Heidelberg University (2008-2010). Throughout his career, he has been part of eight conference championships and five NCAA Regionals.
Coach Piotrowicz is joined at SVSU by his wife Heather, and four sons, Elliot, Hunter, Zeke, and Benjamin.
