UNIVERSITY CENTER, Mich. – The Saginaw Valley State University softball team learned its matchup and destination for the NCAA Division II Softball Championship Midwest Regional on Monday morning when the selections were announced live.
The Cardinals (37-14) were selected as the fourth seed and will face fifth-seed Ashland at UIndy on Thursday, May 14 at 2:30 p.m. (ET).
Host, and top-seed in the Midwest Region, UIndy will play the eight seed Tiffin in the first game on Thursday at noon, ET.
The winner of the four-team, double-elimination tournament will advance to the best-of-three games Super Regional scheduled for May 21-22, against the winner of the other Midwest pod of (2) McKendree, (7) Rockhurst, (3) Findlay, and (6) Missouri S&T.
The NCAA Division II Championship final site will be held at Frost Stadium at Warner Park in Chattanooga, Tennessee from May 28-June 3.
