UNIVERSITY CENTER, Mich. – The Saginaw Valley State University men's soccer team remained unbeaten in GLIAC play with a 3–1 victory over Purdue Northwest on Friday afternoon at Robert C. Braddock Field.

The Cardinals (4-0-3, 3-0-0 GLIAC) opened the scoring just before halftime when Adrian Mahoney (Brampton, Ontario / Marshall University) finished in the 45th minute off a pass from Kolja Thomas (Butjadingen, Germany / Zinzendorschule Tossens). Early in the second half, SVSU doubled its lead as Eoin Farrell (Athy, Ireland / Ardscoil na Tríonóide) converted from the penalty spot in the 47th minute for his first goal as a Cardinal.

The advantage grew in the 82nd minute when Matty Telfer (Newcastle, England / Sunderland College) struck off an assist from Ryan Bovee (Clarkston, Mich. / Clarkston HS) to make it 3–0. PNW broke through with a late goal in the 86th minute, halting SVSU's clean sheet streak of nearly four games.

SVSU outshot the Pride 21–6, putting six on frame. The Cardinals also held a 10–1 advantage in corner kicks, including seven in the first half. The match featured nine yellow cards, with eight assessed to SVSU. Goalkeeper Nick Kay (Walled Lake, Mich. / Walled Lake Central HS) played all 90 minutes and made one save to earn the win.
