Men’s Golf Finishes GLIAC Championships in Fifth Place

AUGUSTA, Mich. – The Saginaw Valley State University men's golf program finished stroke play in the GLIAC Championships on Friday, April 17. The Cardinals shot 285 (+1) in the final round to finish at 859 (+7) and in fifth place out of nine teams.

Evan Klein led the team and hopped three spots on the final day to finish in fifth out of 45 golfers. He shot a team-best 67 (-4) in round three to finish 208 (-5). Tony Spicuzza was next and tied for 17th shooting 215 (+2) over three rounds. He carded a 72 (+1) to finish on Friday.

Garrett Morrison also shot a 72 (+1) on the final round and finished at 218 (+5). He finished tied for 21st with three birdies in his final round. Dominik Dostal was three strokes behind and tied for 30th with a 221 (+8). Dostal carded a 76 (+5) in round three.

Jorge Basterra subbed in for round three and shot 74 (+3), carding 13 pars and a birdie.
