Dylan Liddell begins his first season as a member of the first Cardinal men’s basketball coaching staff under head coach Chris Fowler.

Prior to joining SVSU, Liddell served as the head boys basketball coach at Forest Hills Eastern High School in Ada, Michigan, for one season. During his tenure, the Hawks were awarded Academic All-State with a team GPA of 3.71.

The Auburn, Indiana native, served seven seasons with fellow GLIAC member Davenport. He was on the bench for 121 wins over the course of his seven seasons in Grand Rapids. His student-athletes earned 15 All-GLIAC awards since joining NCAA Division II (prior to the 2017-18 season), in addition to six All-WHAC awards during his first and only season on the bench in the Panthers' NAIA era. He served as the Panthers’ offensive coordinator and recruiting coordinator while also being responsible for managing the team's scholarship and operating budgets, assisting with upholding compliance standards, monitoring student-athletes' progress in the classroom, and serving as the liaison to many departments throughout the Davenport campus.

Liddell was part of the 2021-22 DU staff. That year, the Panthers secured their first NCAA Tournament appearance as an automatic qualifier. That team became the first eight-seed to win the GLIAC Men's Basketball Tournament title. The squad finished with the highest field goal percentage (47.5 percent) and three-point field goal percentage (37.3 percent) in their NCAA Division II history.

Liddell graduated in 2016 from Grand Valley State University in Allendale. For three years (2013-16), he served as a student assistant on the staff of former head coach Ric Wesley. In 2014, he became the program's first-ever NCAA recruiting certified student assistant and kept this certification for his final two years. With the Lakers, Liddell helped the coaching staff with scouting, recruiting, and player development. He also handled daily tasks like editing and exchanging video, coordinating travel, and supervising other student assistants.

Liddell, his wife Kendra, and their son Copeland now reside in Saginaw Township.
