UNIVERSITY CENTER, Mich. – The Saginaw Valley State University football team gave No. 2 Ferris State University all it could handle before falling in overtime on Saturday in Big Rapids, Mich.
The Cardinals were able to rally in the contest with the aid of their sure-footed kicker, junior Connor Luksic, who is the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Special Teams Player of the Week for the second time in 2021.
The Springboro, Ohio native hit field goals of 26, 27, and 28 yards in the game, while connecting on all four extra points for the Cardinals. He also averaged 41 yards per punt on four attempts.
The Cardinals (1-2, 0-1 GLIAC) look to get back in the win column with a non-conference road matchup at Wayne State University at 6 pm Saturday in Detroit.
