The National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) announced Wednesday that senior pitcher Jack Decker (Farmington Hills, Mich. / North Farmington HS) has been named the NCBWA Midwest Region Pitcher of the Week.

Decker threw a scoreless 6.1 innings in a 2-1 upset victory over No. 6 Grand Valley State on Friday. The senior pitcher allowed three hits and two walks and struck out three, only allowing two runners in scoring position. He entered in the third with runners on first and third and stranded them at those bases. Later, the Farmington Hills, Michigan native pitched out of the seventh and eighth innings without allowing lead off doubles to score. Decker is first in the conference in strikeouts with 62 and has struck out a GLIAC-leading 24 of them looking.
